Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Tolleson

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will challenge the Tolleson Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shadow Ridge's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against O'Connor as Shadow Ridge made off with a 3-0 victory. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Eagles are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacob Engwall and Nathan Johansen scored all three of Shadow Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Tolleson narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Basha 2-1. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by just one goal.

The victory made it two in a row for Tolleson and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Shadow Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-2.

Shadow Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Tolleson when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Shadow Ridge repeat their success, or does Tolleson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
