Volleyball Recap: Rains Comes Up Short

Rains was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Chisum Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Rains ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-21.

Rains' loss dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Chisum, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 25 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rains will face off against rival Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chisum is set to challenge their familiar foe Commerce at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
