Volleyball Recap: Desiree Gonzalez and Madison Martinez Secure Win for Weslaco

Weslaco came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the La Feria Lions by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Leading Weslaco to victory were Madison Martinez and Desiree Gonzalez. Martinez had 29 assists, while Gonzalez had six digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Gonzalez a new career-high.

Weslaco's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for La Feria, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Weslaco will take on Skidmore-Tynan at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for La Feria, they will be taking part in a tournament against Edcouch-Elsa at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
