It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Lexington Eagles. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20, 25-12.

Leading West to victory were Kera Kaluza and Addison Macik. Kaluza had 22 digs and four aces, while Macik had 17 digs. That's the most aces Kaluza has posted since back in October.

Lexington's loss came despite strong showings from Averie Mathews and Shelby Brown. Mathews had 12 digs, while Brown had five digs. Mathews has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 34-12 record this season. As for Lexington, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 34-19 record.

West will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. Stockdale will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something West surely won't give up without a fight. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
