Volleyball Recap: Charleston Trojans vs. Salem Wildcats

With a playoff game on the line, Charleston rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Salem Wildcats , sneaking past 2-1. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2016.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Charleston who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-22.

Avery Beals was the offensive standout of the game as she had 17 digs.

Charleston was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem only served three.

When it comes to explaining why Salem lost, don't look at Natalie Lee. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs.

The victory made it two in a row for Charleston and bumps their season record up to 12-19. As for Salem, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-14.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Triad on the 31st. Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
