Softball Recap: Oxford Hills Has No Trouble Against Lewiston

Oxford Hills had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Lewiston on Wednesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Oxford Hills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Lewiston, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Oxford Hills is set to take on their familiar foe Skowhegan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 1.9, the River Hawks 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lewiston will square off against rival Mt. Blue at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
