Volleyball Recap: Cece Detoro Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Poland Seminary

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Lakeview were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Poland Seminary. Lakeview has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Poland Seminary, too.

While Lakeview won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.

Lakeview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cece DeToro, who had 28 assists. DeToro is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Barnot, who had 15 digs.

Poland Seminary lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Leanna Boccieri, who had 11 digs. Makenna Saville was another key player, getting six digs and two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Lakeview and bumps their season record up to 2-4. As for Poland Seminary, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Lakeview has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Struthers on the 28th. As for Poland Seminary, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Girard on the 28th.
