Recap: Lamar County Bulldogs vs. Winston County Yellowjackets
The Lamar County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-45 to Winston County. Lamar County lost against Winston County in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-34 score last time.
Winston County found their leader in underclassman Marli Stewart, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Stewart continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Kate Veal, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Lamar County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Winston County, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Lamar County will look to defend their home court on Monday against Berry at 5:00 p.m. Berry comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Winston County, they will head out on the road to face off against Sulligent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
