Football Game Preview: West Bend East Suns vs. Slinger Owls

The West Bend East Suns will venture away from home to challenge the Slinger Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bend East has given up an average of 39.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Bend East is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Cedarburg on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Suns were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 41-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Suns in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Slinger entered their tilt with Whitefish Bay on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They strolled past the Blue Dukes with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Owls' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Blue Dukes are ranked 95th).

West Bend East's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Slinger, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

West Bend East was dealt a bruising 48-0 defeat at the hands of Slinger in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Suns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
