Baseball Recap: Seton Catholic Triumphs

Seton Catholic saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Douglas Bulldogs by a score of 6-2.

Seton Catholic got a great performance from Brady Stephenson as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Stephenson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Ries was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Seton Catholic: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ruiz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Seton Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Douglas, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Seton Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Canyon del Oro on the 12th. As for Douglas, they will take on Salpointe Catholic in a tournament on Friday.
