Football Recap: Rhea County Falls Short Against Ranked Bledsoe County

Rhea County faced Bledsoe County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat leaves the Golden Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

It was another big night for Lilianne Sherrell, who rushed for 136 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 105 yards on 19 of 27 attempts for Bledsoe County. Sherrell is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when she posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 6-2 (and 1-5 when she doesn't).

Rhea County's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Bledsoe County, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Rhea County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bledsoe County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 27-8 defeat against Stone Memorial on the 29th.
