Basketball Recap: Village Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Village Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Trinity Christian Crusaders and fell 72-18. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 93rd).

Village Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Trinity Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Freedom Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Freedom Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Trinity Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Northwood Temple Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwood Temple Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.
