Softball Game Preview: Wardlaw Academy Patriots vs. Northside Christian Academy Crusaders

The Wardlaw Academy Patriots will challenge the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wardlaw Academy is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Ridge Spring-Monetta, falling 28-17.

Ellie Yonce (7Th) and Kya McCormick ( SR) stepped up to the plate in a big way. Yonce (7Th) scored three runs while going 2-for-5, while McCormick ( SR) scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Holmes (SR), who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Wardlaw Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northside Christian Academy lost 13-3 to Lee Academy on Thursday.

Northside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wardlaw Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Wardlaw Academy took their win against Northside Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 15-0. Will Wardlaw Academy repeat their success, or does Northside Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
