Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley took a blow against Cameron County, falling 47-16. Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley was down 26-0 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Although Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Michael Eaton and Ryan Schenfield.
Meanwhile, Port Allegany strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Brookville as they made off with a 48-28 victory. Considering the Gators have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Port Allegany's defense made their presence known, laying out Trenton Colgan five times. Isaac Postlewait was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.5 points over those games. As for Port Allegany, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Port Allegany struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 245.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley took a serious blow against Port Allegany when the teams last played back in October of 2023, falling 47-8. Can Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
