Football Game Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Iowa City West Trojans

The Prairie Hawks will face off against the Iowa City West Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Prairie made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cedar Falls, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 20-17 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Iowa City West humbled Davenport Central with a 63-7 victory. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 29 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Iowa City West's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.4 points on average over those games. As for Prairie, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.

Prairie beat Iowa City West 28-21 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
