Volleyball Recap: St. Edward's Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Edward lost against Brevard HEAT back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Firehawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered against the Firehawks since September 22, 2022.

St. Edward's couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Brevard HEAT a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 30-28.

Grace Clemente paced St. Edward's offense, picking up nine kills. Clemente got some help from Margaret Fykes and her 19 assists. Makena Rodriguez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

St. Edward's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-9. As for Brevard HEAT, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

St. Edward's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Sebastian River on the 30th. As for Brevard HEAT, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Eau Gallie on the 2nd.
