Basketball Recap: Whitefield Academy Skates Past Cristo Rey Atlanta with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mount Paran Christian, Whitefield Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They breezed by Cristo Rey Atlanta to the tune of 71-24. The WolfPack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Whitefield Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Houlder led the charge by going 10 of 15 on her way to 25 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Houlder has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amelia Newman, who went 9 for 18 en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.

Houlder wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Whitefield Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Whitefield Academy pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.3 points. As for Cristo Rey Atlanta, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
