Basketball Recap: Eagle's Landing Comes Up Short

Eagle's Landing fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers 61-57. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy was led to victory by Jazmine Lopez and Natasha Smith. Lopez posted 26 points along with eight boards and five steals, while Smith went 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Lopez has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Sweed, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Eagle's Landing's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-15.

Eagle's Landing wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-34 loss against Stockbridge on the 25th. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Locust Grove on the 25th.
