Basketball Recap: Johanna Frerichs Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hemingford

There's no place like home for South Platte, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Hemingford Bobcats by a score of 54-42 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Platte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johanna Frerichs, who posted 18 points and six boards. Frerichs is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. Isabelle Reichman was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

South Platte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Hemingford, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

South Platte will face off against Arthur County at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hemingford has already played their next game, a 63-39 loss against Edgemont on the 1st.
