Basketball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

If Stratford was feeling good fresh off their 67-40 takedown of Stem Preparatory Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stratford Spartans took a blow against the East Nashville Magnet Eagles on Tuesday, falling 81-53. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.

Despite the loss, Stratford still got an impressive performance from Montez Martin, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Martin is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Campbell, who earned ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for East Nashville Magnet, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

Stratford has already played their next match, a 67-35 loss against Whites Creek on the 23rd. As for East Nashville Magnet, they are taking a road trip to square off against RePublic at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. East Nashville Magnet is facing RePublic at the right time seeing as RePublic is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
