Lorelai Stirling was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over 8.1 innings while giving up seven earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Stirling was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Gabriela Puntel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Fia Capone was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Abington Friends' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Academy of the New Church, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Everything went Academy of the New Church's way against Abington Friends when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Academy of the New Church made off with a 26-6 victory.
