Basketball Recap: Hicks' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hicks waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 53-41 victory over the Anacoco Indians. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Indians back in January, they had to take a 29-28 loss.

Caleb Taylor and Landon Tinsley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Taylor shot 57% from the field on his way to 18 points, while Tinsley dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Dowden, who posted four points and six boards.

Hicks' win bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Anacoco, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-4.

Hicks has already played their next game (against Pitkin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Anacoco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-31 victory against Fairview on the 9th.
