Baseball Recap: South Granville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

South Granville was the 10-0 winner over Carrboro when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 12-8 to the Jaguars on Tuesday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Vani Hernandez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played. Samuel Fuller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

South Granville's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 7-8. As for Carrboro, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

While South Granville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
