Recap: Casady Cyclones vs. Broken Bow Savages

If the Casady Cyclones were feeling good off their 72-48 takedown of the Sulphur Bulldogs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Casady took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broken Bow on Friday. While losing is never fun, Casady can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Broken Bow is ranked 108th).

Casady's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Buckingham, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Buckingham hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Mitchell-johnson, who scored 14 points.

Casady now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Broken Bow, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Casady will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Washington at 4:25 p.m. on January 20th. As for Broken Bow, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poteau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteau and Broken Bow are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
