The Big Sandy Red Devils can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Lewis County 71-50. That looming 71-50 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Big Sandy yet this season.

Cole Pierpoint continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Big Sandy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Merrell, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Big Sandy's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Lewis County, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Big Sandy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. The timing is sure in Houston County's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Big Sandy has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Lewis County will take on Perry County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
