Cary has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will host the Apex Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Apex took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cary, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Cary finally turned things around against Sanderson on Monday. They blew past the Spartans 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Imps have posted since August 26th.
Cary never let Sanderson on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Apex's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Green Level. The Cougars have struggled against the Gators recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
While Apex had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 15 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17.
Despite the defeat, Apex got top-tier performance from Katie Raymer, who had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Raymer has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Hulse, who had five digs and four aces.
Cary now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Apex, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
