Soccer Recap: Oak Ridge Takes a Loss

If Oak Ridge was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Caney Creek last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oak Ridge War Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Woodlands on Monday. The War Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Highlanders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for The Woodlands, they pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Oak Ridge and The Woodlands should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Oak Ridge (ranked 72nd) will meet Cleveland (ranked 564th) at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, The Woodlands will square off against Grand Oaks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday up 136 places (40 vs. 176). Oak Ridge's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so The Woodlands' offense will have their work cut out for them.
