Baseball Recap: Coronado Thunderbirds vs. Montwood Rams

While Coronado's win against Montwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Coronado sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Montwood on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaxon Baptist looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ben Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Walt Mann, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Coronado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montwood only posted a batting average of .160.
