Softball Game Preview: Cypress Centurions vs. Canyon Comanches

The Cypress Centurions are taking a road trip to take on the Canyon Comanches at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cypress, who comes in off a win.

Cypress barely beat Mayfair the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Centurions put the hurt on the Monsoons with a sharp 8-1 victory on Saturday. Considering the Centurions have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Cypress' win was truly a team effort as ten different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Leah Adams, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Adams also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Jolie Densmore was another, scoring three runs while going 1-for-1.

Cypress always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Canyon's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Modena on Tuesday. The Comanches' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Cypress' record is now 12-6. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
