Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Lubbock-Cooper

The Coronado Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Coronado fell victim to Amarillo and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Sandies, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Coronado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Amarillo are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Palo Duro. The result was nothing new for Lubbock-Cooper, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Lubbock-Cooper's victory bumped their record up to 7-0-2. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
