Soccer Game Preview: Pine vs. Geneva

Pine has won four straight games at home, while Geneva has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Pine Knights will welcome the Geneva Knights at 1:30 p.m. One thing working in Pine's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last eight games.

Pine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand St. Edward's an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Geneva narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Master's Academy 2-1.

Camila Cabito and Elisabet Rosario scored both of Geneva's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 34 goals.

Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those ten games. As for Pine, their win bumped their record up to 13-1-1.

Pine might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Geneva in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Pine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
