Softball Recap: Silver Stage Nighthawks vs. Oasis Academy Bighorns
Silver Stage had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-19 to make it 16. They came up short against the Oasis Academy Bighorns, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bighorns this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-2 loss on Saturday.
As for Oasis Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games.
For Oasis Academy's part, Shayana McNamer made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McNamer was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Amber Casey was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Lewis, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
