Basketball Recap: Towanda Comes Up Short

Towanda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Troy Trojans 80-50. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Trojans are ranked 162nd).

Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Troy, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Towanda will welcome Wellsboro at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Troy, they will head out to square off against Athens at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Troy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Athens likes a good challenge.
