Basketball Recap: Bryceton Sanders Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pike County

Callaway won against Jackson last Friday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Callaway Cavaliers walked away with a 70-61 victory over the Pike County Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-28 back in January.

Callaway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryceton Sanders led the charge by putting up 20 points. The dominant performance gave Sanders a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was BreShun Hall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Callaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pike County only pulled down four offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Pike County still got an impressive performance from Nazarious McDowell, who went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and four steals. Yadi Rosado was another key player, posting 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Callaway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Pike County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-18.

Callaway has already played their next match, a 76-49 win against Harris County on the 4th. As for Pike County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-61 victory against Rutland on the 4th.
