Softball Recap: East Union Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Union waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras as they made off with a 20-1 win. With that victory, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Lily Pickering made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Leah Altstadt was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, two triples, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Savanna Lopez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

East Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got East Union back to even at 12-12. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

East Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Cosumnes Oaks on the 26th. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Argonaut on the 25th.
