Volleyball Recap: Wasatch Academy Takes a Loss

If Wasatch Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Wasatch Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Dianna S and Carmen S, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Cora Brademburg and her 13 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Annie Z, each putting up two.

Wasatch Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wasatch Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Salt Lake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Freedom Prep Academy will square off against rival Rockwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
