Hatton/Northwood is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since February 19, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 69-44 to Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg. The Thunder have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, New Rockford-Sheyenne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Griggs County Central/Midkota and fell 57-27.

New Rockford-Sheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Hatton/Northwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.
