Palmer has gone 9-1 against Kenai Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Moose are taking a road trip to take on the Kardinals at 5:30 p.m. Palmer has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Palmer is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Colony, who was ranked fourth at the time (Palmer was ranked 16th). The Moose lost 23-3 to the Knights on Monday.

Lizzy McQuillin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Meanwhile, Kenai Central won against Homer on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went the Kardinals' way against Houston as they made off with a 12-4 victory. The Kardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Blakeley Jorgensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kenai Central let Avery Ellis and Kailey Stynsberg run wild. Ellis went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Stynsberg went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Ellis has posted over her last ten games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Thomas, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
The win (which was Kenai Central's third in a row) raised their record to 12-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Palmer came out on top in a nail-biter against Kenai Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 16-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Moose since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
