Basketball Recap: Manchester Comes Up Short

Manchester lost against Fayetteville-Perry back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Manchester Greyhounds were dealt a 59-20 loss at the hands of the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Fayetteville-Perry's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryley Kleemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Kleemeyer is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Barber, who went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points and three steals.

Manchester dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fayetteville-Perry, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manchester will host East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they will welcome Lynchburg-Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
