West Jordan put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Kearns Cougars get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. Considering the Jaguars have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rita Tavita made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Arianna Fjeldsted was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kaylie Taylor also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
