Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Samson

Samson waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Geneva County Bulldogs 18-1. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 16-2 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Ryleigh Jackson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holly Warren, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Molly Glisson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Samson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Samson's record now sits at 12-8. As for Geneva County, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Looking ahead, Samson will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pleasant Home at 4:30 p.m. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.36 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Geneva County, they will head out on the road to take on Northside Methodist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
