Volleyball Recap: Blythe Armstrong and Shyanne Ricks Secure Win for Fergus

Fergus barely beat East Helena the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Eagles blew past the Vigilantes 3-0 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Vigilantes: they've now won three in a row.

While Fergus won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

Fergus was led to victory by Shyanne Ricks and Blythe Armstrong. Ricks had 15 digs, while Armstrong had 16 digs and two blocks. Those 15 digs gave Ricks a new career-high. Averi Sparks also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Fergus' record now sits at 10-7. As for East Helena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Fergus will challenge Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Helena, after both having extra time off, they and Lockwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
