Volleyball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Gets the Win + How To Watch

GVCS Broadfording's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Calvary Christian Academy by a score of 3-1. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory Calvary Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

GVCS Broadfording had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.

Calvary Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Madie Robinette, who had 20 digs and 14 kills. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more kills the last three times she's played. Addy Burkett was another key player, getting 20 digs and three aces.

GVCS Broadfording's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

GVCS Broadfording will welcome New Life Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Bedford on the 6th.
