Basketball Recap: Keone Tran's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Balboa over Washington + How To Watch

If Balboa was feeling good fresh off their 59-32 takedown of The Bay School last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buccaneers fell 59-50 to the Washington Eagles on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 49-45 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Balboa lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Keone Tran, who posted 11 points. He also put up two steals, which were his first of the season. Lorenzo Manna was another key player, putting up three points and 11 rebounds.

James Coleman produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 32 points and ten boards for Washington. That makes it three consecutive games in which Coleman has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezana Hailu, who earned ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Balboa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Washington, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Balboa will take on Lick-Wilmerding in a tournament on Thursday. As for Washington, they will head out to face off against Westmoor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
