It was a good run, but Bishop McGuinness unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Weatherford Eagles by a score of 8-6. The Fighting Irish were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Spencer Bass was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Bishop McGuinness' defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Weatherford, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Bishop McGuinness didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-7 loss against El Reno on the 10th. As for Weatherford, they have also already played their next game, an 8-2 win against Cache on the 10th.
