Volleyball Recap: Peyton Find Success

Peyton's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gilpin County Eagles. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Brynlee Ray was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 14 digs and nine aces. Those nine aces gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Peyton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilpin County only served nine aces.

Despite the defeat, Gilpin County had strong showings from Maddy Sutton, who had 12 digs, and Jennifer Rodriguez-Jimenez, who had nine digs and four aces.

Peyton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Gilpin County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Peyton has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Clear Creek on the 30th. As for Gilpin County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Cedaredge on the 30th.
