The Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 35-28 to North Raleigh Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wake Christian Academy in their matchups with North Raleigh Christian Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
S. Ross burnette and Logan Hawxwell, Wake Christian Academy certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ross burnette threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns, while Hawxwell picked up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
North Raleigh Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Davin Mccoy, who rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Mccoy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Wake Christian Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Christian Academy will take on GRACE Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. GRACE Christian has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 18th. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ravenscroft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Ravenscroft is ranked 266th, while North Raleigh Christian Academy is ranked 285th).
