Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Find Success

Grosse Pointe North won the last time they faced St. Clair and things went their way on Thursday too. The Norsemen came out on top against the Saints by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Norsemen.

Max Praet spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trevor Lipscomb, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Grosse Pointe North is undefeated when Lipscomb posts two or more runs, but 2-19-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jarackas, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Grosse Pointe North's record now sits at 5-19-1. As for St. Clair, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Grosse Pointe North will challenge Notre Dame Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Clair, they will face off against Berkley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
