Norwalk has gone a perfect 10-0 against McMahon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Senators at 4:00 p.m. Norwalk's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so McMahon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Norwalk and Westhill, and Norwalk kept the tradition alive. The Bears blew past the Vikings 14-1 on Friday.
Maddie Collins and Zoey Wilds made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Collins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wilds pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. At the plate, Collins went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Wilds went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Wilds has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ally Lanzarotto, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Lacomis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Norwalk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, McMahon fell victim to New Canaan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 17-0. The Senators haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Norwalk has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for McMahon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Everything went Norwalk's way against McMahon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Norwalk made off with a 6-0 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Senators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
