Tabernacle Christian extends home winning streak to eight

The Tabernacle Christian Eagles entered their tilt with the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Tabernacle Christian took down Crosspointe Christian Academy 45-30 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for Tabernacle Christian, as the team was forced to settle for a 57-35 loss when these two played two weeks ago.

Tabernacle Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liz Southerland out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Southerland has scored at least a third of Tabernacle Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Annie Sichting, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 assists.

Tabernacle Christian's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tabernacle Christian will square off against Mooresville Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on MTI School of Knowledge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. MTI School of Knowledge comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
